2011 Adult Retreat

In one of the most well-attended weekends on record, 44 campers attended the 2011 SBANT Adult Retreat. The retreat was held April 15-17 at Camp Summit in Argyle. The annual marshmallow roast on Friday evening was moved to an indoor fire place to accommodate a burn ban. On Saturday, campers enjoyed plenty of free time activities including horseback riding, arts & crafts and fishing. They also attended a financial independence workshop geared towards teaching them basic financial skills needed to live an independent life. The day was rounded out with a pizza party and dance. On Sunday, campers participated in a multitude of events during the first annual Olympics. Campers divided into three teams and participated in 8 different events such as the Dangling Donut Munch, Basketball Throw, and many other entertaining events. Goodie bags for the weekend and the financial independence workshop were sponsored by the Oklahoma Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. Marcia Smith, of Oklahoma City, donated funds for two camper scholarships. Snack baskets for each cabin were provided by Lucy and Ron McLaughlin, of Edmond, Oklahoma.  What an amazing event for our adults!  Thank you to everyone who helped and participated!
